New Stage Theatre continues the centennial celebration of writer Eudora Welty with the theatrical adaption of one of her more beloved novellas, “The Ponder Heart.” The play follows the eccentric Uncle Daniel Ponder, and his up-and-down relationship with his family, women and other peculiarities. One of the most affluent men in Clay County—and perhaps the kookiest—Daniel provides more than enough messes for his niece Edna to clean up, especially after his unassuming, much younger wife drops dead.
