It’s not a really a blog—you can’t post comments—but Dillon’s gubernatorial race journal is the closest I’ve seen to a candidate posting a blog, and direct comments to the voters, in the state. Dillon’s race for governor on the Greens ticket officially kicks off today.

pardon the nit picking but for the record: http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/b/blog.html a blog doesn’t require viewer/reader comments to be a blog

That’s OK, guy. Todd, the resident blog expert over here, just told me the same thing. However, he added, the most *effective* blogs are interactive and allow comments. So Sherman Lee oughta change the name of his to “blog,” and take advantage of all the BlogforAmerica.com hype!

For the record, y’all, Sherman Lee’s Web site is doing a darned good job at reaching out directly to voters in a Dean-esque way. Other state candidates should try to speak directly to voters on their Web sites. By the way, Dillon also had the most complete answers to date on our candidate questionnaires. Kudos to him for the large amount of time he apparently put into it: http://www.jacksonfreepress.com/politics/candidate_detail.php?id=1387_0_15_0_C
