JACKSON (AP) ā€” Jackson police say a 1-year-old girl has died after being shot in the head.

Jackson Police Department spokeswoman Colendula Green says the shooting also injured an elderly woman, but itā€™s not clear if they were hit in a drive-by shooting or some other type of confrontation. The womanā€™s injuries are not considered life threatening.

Green says the identities of the child and woman have not been released. Itā€™s not clear if they are related.

She says police were called to a house at 11:40 p.m. on Sunday. The child was taken to a hospital, but died from her injuries.

Green says there have been no arrests in the case.
