WAPT is reporting that Frank Melton is trying to get conditions of his bond overturned because he still wants to be able to mentor young people and use police equipment. He is under several counts of felony indictments because he allegedly used police equipment, officers and young people under his mentorship to destroy a house on Ridgeway Street on Aug. 26. WAPT today reported the response of District Attorney Faye Peterson:

โ€œWe did briefly discuss those matters, and I explained that that would have to require a motion filed with the court and a hearing. Although there is a bond set, the conditions of that bond are actually agreed upon by the parties sometimes and set by the judge. Itโ€™s really a matter between the defendant and the court as to any changes in the bond,โ€ said Peterson.

Danks wouldnโ€™t comment on the bond because of an imposed gag order in the case.
Peterson said if Danks does file a motion to amend the conditions of Meltonโ€™s bond, she would fight it.

Can someone explain to me how a man under indictment for inducing children to commit a felony using police equipment possibly argue with a straight face that he should be able to continue using police equipment and mentoring young people while out on bond? This theater gets more absurd by the day. Will he tomorrow argue that he should be able to continue tearing down houses that somebody says might be a crackhouseโ€”while he waits for trial?

Why red flags aren’t waving all over town are beyond me? He needs to stop the madness – Cause he’s burning down the house – And he stopped making sense long ago. He’s nothing more than a Talking Head!

I saw an article in the Jackson Advocate that was the most laughable justification of Frank’s actions. It said that since the moment Frank alledgedly damaged the Ridgeway Street house, only three homicides were committed in the city. So one man illegally sledgehammering a house (alledgedly) has caused fewer homicides? Somebody please tell me the logic behind that. Not to sound like a naysayer, but methinks those homicides probably would’ve happened anyway.

They are trying to say that because Frank showed the people that he is for real when he says, “I am gonna bust your $h!t up if you keep messing with Frank,” that the thug element of Jackson is on notice to not keep thug’in around and doing crimes. Ah, the logic makes me head hurt…

geb, not only that, but let’s do the math: August 26th, so it works out to about four weeks. Average of 40 to 50 homicides per year, so if you pulled out an average number at random that would indicate the number of homicides we would have expected to see since August 26th, one would have to say…three. Cheers, TH

The City Council voted 3 – 2 in favor of the Kenny Stokes Ordinance to give authority to destroy “crack houses.” I remembered that Barrett-Simone said that this was not the time to vote on such an issue and she was also absent on the day that the vote was taken. With five houses buring in one day and four belonging to one person and all four are ruled “coincidental,” this is an authority that neither the council or this mayor needs. The court that allows the fox to guard the hen house will be giving a Rx for disaster! Can we learn anything from history?

meanwhile, our mayor has made it to youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vr3x_RRJdd4

What a sweet idea. Reminds me of this. You know, one of the sad things about the Melton business is that he’s given the whole “free hugs” concept a bad name. Cheers, TH

here ya go Tom. pretty funny. watch the whole thing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqUs_u4DN6A

Thanks, Kingfish. One good link deserves another! Cheers, TH

Oh, heck, here’s one more. Cheers, TH

WHy is Melton pushing so hard for these things? Ever think the use of the MCC allows him to monitor all police communications? Kind of nice if you want to keep track of operations directly each night. and tell them where to be or where NOT to be. or if you were so inclined, to alert others. and fighting so hard to “mentor”. creepy

Im starting to think Frank is Bi-Polar!!!!!!!!!!!!!
