BTVS is one of the all time great television shows. Brilliant villians, tough women, insane sense of humor. His “musical” episode was fabulous, and the episode where Buffy’s mom dies is just plain heartbreaking (because of the camera and sound work, along with the script and the acting). [caveat: the show ran for many years, and there are some stupendously crappy episodes as well.] The only show with better female characters is Battlestar Galactica.
