Sadly, we have to report that two of Jacksonโ€™s most interesting locally owned businesses are closing: Fondren Beverage Emporium and ARTichoke on Fortification Street are closing. In Fondren, the Beverage Emporium joins shops Fondren Traders and New Vibrations, which closed in recent months. On the positive side, shops in The Duling School have opened their doors, as well as Sneaky Beans, a new popular coffeehouse in the old site of New Vibrations. The Auditorium, a new restaurant/music venue in The Duling School, will open soon.

Crap! Now I have to get my imported Mexican Coke and Ale 8 One’s elsewhere. That’s Coca-Cola, ya’ll. Don’t get any funny ideas.

And I’m kicking myself for not visiting the Beverage Emporium before. Tomorrow’s my off day; I hope I’m not too late for my first visit.

ARTichoke is closing? Bummer. ๐Ÿ™ I’ve never been to the Emporium. Do they sell stuff like root beer floats?

I think it’s not too late. Ya’ll go there!!! it’s cool. I love it.Too bad.

NOOOOOOOOO!! I am so sad about Fondren Beverage. I never got to check out ARTichoke but I wanted to. Wherever will we get all the great candy and sodas if FB is gone? They had even put in pinball machines last time I was there. ๐Ÿ™ Stupid economy!!
