The city has issued a boil water notice to about 175 people served by the Maddox Road well system. The statement is below, verbatim.

PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER NOTICE

Due to the recent loss in water pressure, the City of Jackson Water/Sewer Utilities Division has issued a precautionary boil water advisory until further notice for the following areas:

• E Ridge Road
• S Ridge Road
• W Ridge Road
• Ridgelea Road
• Line Street
• Spinning Street
• Horseshoe Circle
• Reel Street
• Hook Street
• Rod Street
• Lake Shore Road
• Meadow Lane
• Bob White Street
• Turtle Road
• Lure Avenue
• Pike Avenue
• Mary Lane
• Oak Avenue
• Park Avenue

THIS ADVISORY AFFECTS APPROXIMATELY 175 CUSTOMERS AND IS SERVED BY THE CITY OF JACKSON MADDOX ROAD WELL SYSTEM (PWS 250012).

This is a precautionary advisory. This notice does not mean that the water is unsafe, but it does mean that customers must take precaution and boil the water before use. All customers are advised to boil their drinking water until adequate pressure is restored to the system.

Water should be brought to a rolling boil for one minute for the following: cooking or baking, making ice cubes, taking medication, brushing teeth, washing food, mixing baby formula or food, mixing juices or drinks feeding pets, washing dishes and all other consumption.

RESIDENTS WILL BE NOTIFIED IMMEDIATELY WHEN THE ADVISORY IS LIFTED. For more information, call 601-960-2723.
