For the last five years, the Jackson Free Press and women community leaders have joined forces to put on the JFP Chick Ball. In addition to providing a stellar music lineup, silent auction and fun, the Ball raises awareness for the state’s domestic-violence dilemma and benefits the Center for Violence Prevention. The Bachelorettes and friends couldn’t perform at this year’s Chick Ball (July 25), but they wanted to do their part to help the Center. And thus, the Chick Jam was born. The Bachelorettes have recently filled the void of catchy doo-wop that the city’s music scene was missing, and they put on a high-energy, fun show. Don’t miss it.
