Fifth-grade math teacher Tyler Shows of Petal Upper Elementary School earned a Milken Educator Award in 2022 in recognition of his teaching ability.

Michelle Chung attends Presbyterian Christian School in Hattiesburg, Miss., where she serves as editor-in-chief of the school newspaper. She participates in many community activities, including playing as the concertmaster in the Hattiesburg Youth Orchestra, in addition to volunteer work. In the future, she hopes to further pursue her passions in history and journalism.
