“Civil Rights era murderers still living among us should be hunted down in the same manner as Nazi War criminals,” Melva L. Bradford writes.
Melva L. Bradford
Melva L. Bradford, native of Greensboro, N.C., is the executive director of The LaStraw, Inc. (pronounced last straw), a nonprofit organization that works to address issues perpetuating poverty in economically distressed and under-resourced areas. As a participant of the Freedom Summer 2004 Ride for Justice, she learned while traveling that the systemic and behavioral issues she grew up with and saw as a working adult in Guilford County, N.C., were not unique to the county, state or even the South. Bradford lives in Detroit, Mich., with her husband, Brandon Bradford, their three dogs, Bert, Jax and Tia Indigo, and their cat Phantom.
