John Shjarback is an associate professor in the Department of Law and Justice Studies at Rowan University in New Jersey. He has published more than 40 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and technical reports on topics broadly related to transactional violence between police officers and citizens, race/ethnicity, and accountability. He has collaborated with a number of law enforcement agencies and practitioners on various projects and evaluations, and his research has impacted policy and informed data collection efforts. He is the author of the book "Chasing Change in Camden: Police Reform in One of America’s Most Violent Cities" (Temple University Press).
