Callie Maddox, assistant professor of kinesiology at Miami University, focuses their instruction and research on the critical sociocultural study of sport, physical culture and leisure practices. She has published previous work on fitness culture in contemporary India, the global governance of baseball and softball, women's experiences in outdoor recreation, and embodied motherhood. Her current interests include the history and globalization of women's baseball, the complexities of American yoga culture, and the convergence of art and sport in professional soccer.
