A group of Jackson Public School District students is getting on-the-job training at Nissan North America.
Mississippi lawmakers approved $44 million in incentives training money and other state incentives to support a plan by Amazon Web Services to spend $10 billion to build two data processing centers in the central part of the state.
The YouthBuild program first started in 1997 after the Department of Labor provided funding to West Jackson CDC, a private nonprofit, which serves as an entity for community-based leadership and revitalization of the community surrounding Jackson State University.
Nissan will build two new all-electric Nissan and Infiniti vehicles at its Canton, Miss., assembly plant, the Japanese automaker announced this morning alongside Gov. Tate Reeves and other state officials.
