The Brookhaven, Miss., Board of Aldermen fired a detective whose testimony in trial caused a judge to rule the first trial as a mistrial and dismiss the retrial of Brandon Case and Gregory Case, whom prosecutors alleged shot at FedEx driver D’Monterrio Gibson while he was making deliveries in January 2022.
