Hinds County’s Resolution Board began reviewing absentee ballots today at 12:30 p.m., and the county’s five election commissioners will begin counting and verifying affidavit ballots at about 2 p.m., District 2 Election Commissioner Bobbie M. Graves told the Mississippi Free Press.
The county has 10 business days to certify the election results, but they aim to complete affidavit counting within five business days, District 5 commissioner Felicia McClinton told the Mississippi Free Press.
Hinds County Circuit Court Clerk Zack Wallace said issues at the ballot box in Hinds County were minimal. “I think, some of the issues they made it out to be big, but it was pretty much a ballot was jammed into the machine, and it wasn’t anything,” Wallace told the Mississippi Free Press.
