College baseball: Mississippi State gets a snow day. Nicholls State saw snow on the ground in Starkville, decided it was too damn cold to play and skipped town.

Men’s college basketball: Memphis 58, Southern Miss 42. USM coach Larry Eustachy gave up his $25,000 bonus and annual contract rollover. With the Eagles 14-14, his bosses were in no mood to argue.

Men’s college basketball: Ole Miss and Mississippi State collapse. After their costly home losses, the Rebels and Bulldogs will be lucky to go to the NIT.

Men’s college basketball: Mississippi Valley State 73, Jackson State 67. The Tigers can beat just anybody in the SWAC except for the Delta Devils. That make the Tigers’ game tonight at Arkansas-Pine Bluff that much more important.

High school basketball: It’s Raymond night at the Boys and Girls State Tournament. Would the last person to leave town please turn out the lights?

NFL football: The New York Giants sign Michael Boley. The former Golden Eagle hits the free-agent jackpot.
