The Tyler (Texas) Morning Telegraph is reporting on Melton’s indictments—while oddly not mentioning that his wife and homestead exemption still reside right there in their coverage area:

A former Tyler businessman defiantly says he will not resign as mayor of Jackson, Miss., despite six felony and two misdemeanor indictments against him.
Frank Melton said the indictments and allegations were “silly and politically motivated.” […]

Melton, a former business owner in Tyler, told members of the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce in 2003 that the war on drugs had to become tougher.

In that speech Melton criticized bankers and car dealers who knowingly accept money generated from drug deals into their banks and businesses.

Bump.

This man will never change. I don’t think this will be that reporters last story on Melton. The former Tyler businessman… Already distancing themselves from him.
