STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) — A bulldog who roamed the sidelines as the Mississippi State University mascot has died.

The university says Bully XX (Bully 20) died Sunday of complications of congestive heart failure.

The dog also known as Champ would have turned 11 next month. He was on the sidelines starting in 2009, and his last football game was the Orange Bowl in 2014.

His son, Jak, is the new mascot.
