Jackson hosts diverse operas from two different continents Saturday, April 21.

First, the Adhiambo School (3424 Robinson St.) presents “N’Ye’Re’Bia,” a West African opera performance that includes music, drumming and dance. The story is about friendship, and the show celebrates African culture. The show starts at 5 p.m. in the school auditorium. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children. Call 601-922-1184.

Saturday is your final chance to see the Mississippi Opera this season, when it performs Donizetti’s “The Elixir of Love.” This slapstick satire centers on our unending search for love.
