A 100-foot-wide dam break at Archusa Creek Water Park unleashed a deluge in Quitman, Miss., on Sunday evening.
Disability Rights Mississippi, a nonprofit that advocates for the rights of those with disabilities throughout the state, has investigated complaints regarding the amount of time those on bond, like Brad Sellers, have waited for a forensic bed to open at Mississippi State Hospital.
Four in 10 residents was the average number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in those for-profit long-term-care facilities. One possible factor: The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration had already cited 80% of Mississippi’s nursing homes for infection-control problems before the pandemic hit.
