Teens, parents and mental-health professionals from across Mississippi gathered at the Teen Suicide Summit to discuss topics like suicide prevention, signs of mental illness, safe spaces for youth and the potential harms of teens using social media.
Jackson should close or consolidate 16 schools, Jackson Public Schools Superintendent Errick Greene suggested as he presented a draft optimization plan at a school board meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 3.
At a special reception hosted at the Jackson Convention Complex on Aug. 29, the City of Jackson honored Nancy Gaynor and others deemed the “unsung heroes and community champions” of the 2022 Jackson water crisis.

Jackson Public School officials have disciplined more than 40 employees following an investigation into Spring 2023 testing irregularities.
