Acacia Clark

Special Projects Assistant Acacia Clark is a native of Chicago, Ill., but has spent most of her life in Jackson, Miss. A Murrah High School graduate, she is currently majoring in Business Management Technology at Hinds Community College. She began her own portrait and event photography business in 2018. After posting some Instagram photos she captured during a Best of Jackson Event, she was invited to begin freelancing as a photojournalist with the Jackson Free Press. Eventually, she took her talents as a photographer and writer to the Mississippi Free Press.

In her spare time, Acacia volunteers as a Speech coach for Murrah High School’s Speech and Debate team. Some things that bring her joy include photography, good food (cooking and restaurant exploring), performing music, watching sci-fi/thriller movies, traveling, and doing volunteer work with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities. She also cherishes quality time with her loved ones, partner and three fur babies.

See Acacia’s Mississippi Free Press stories here and many of her MFP photographs with Aliyah Veal’s stories, including the reporting teams’s tour of the Mississippi’s Blues Trail.
