Contract Gigs with the Mississippi Free Press
Seeking Contract Reporters and Editors for Grant-Funded Projects
The Mississippi Journalism and Education Group and the Mississippi Free Press are seeking talented, passionate reporters and editors to assist with several immediate and medium-term grant-funded projects, ranging from systemic storytelling and coverage in the Jackson area, to education equity pieces, to statewide voting-system coverage. Specific needed skills include narrative writing and reporting, data journalism and/or videography for journalists; and good copy-editing, ability to direct and edit narrative storytelling (or desire to learn fast), and impeccable planning and project-management skills for editors.
Project pay is dependent on experience and how much project work individual candidates are willing and available to take on.
