Mississippi’s daily average COVID-19 caseload is now at its highest point since late October. Today, Dec. 9, 2021, the Mississippi State Department of Health reported 745 new cases, marking the second day in a row with more than 700 cases.

Fixing the ‘Identity Tax’: Female Faculty of Color Do Extra Diversity Work Without Reward

Faculty members of color, in particular, pay an “identity tax,” which is exacerbated for women of color. They are asked to do more mentoring for students—especially students of color—as well as leadership and diversity work on campus.
