If you’re anything like us, you’ve nearly worn out your copy of Bloc Party’s Silent Alarm, one of 2005’s breakthrough albums, with repeated listens. But now, thanks to Vice Records and a little help from their musical peers, there’s a way to make all of Bloc Party’s incredible songs sound new again – Bloc Party will be releasing Silent Alarm Remixed on September 13th!

Silent Alarm Remixed is just that – a track-by-track remix of their phenomenal debut. The album boasts reworkings by the likes of Ladytron, Pretty Girls Make Graves, M83, Mogwai, Death from Above 1979 and Nick Zinner of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. The initial pressing of the album will also include a limited edition bonus disc with three b-sides previously unavailable in the US (“Storm and Stress,” “Always New Depths,” and “Skeletons”), and two acoustic versions of “Plans” and “Storm and Stress.”

Tracklisting:

Like Eating Glass (Ladytron Zapatista Mix)
Helicopter (Whitey Version)
Positive Tension (Jason Clark of Pretty Girls Make Graves remix)
Banquet (Phones Disco Edit)

Mississippi native Donna Ladd and partner Todd Stauffer founded the Jackson Free Press in 2002 in the capital city. The heavily awarded local newspaper did many investigations heralded across the state and nation and served as a paper of record due to its diversity, inclusion, in-depth reporting and deep connection to readers and dedication to narrative change in and about Mississippi. In 2022, the nonprofit Mississippi Free Press, founded by Ladd and JFP Associate Publisher Kimberly Griffin in 2020, purchased the journalism assets and archives of the Jackson Free Press. A Google grant through AAN Publishers enabled Newspack's integration of the JFP archives into the Mississippi Free Press website to become part of a more searchable archive of recent Mississippi history and essential journalism.
