Deputy Editor Nate Schumann writes on the dangers of treating politics like “team sports” and encourages Mississippians to become more politically informed.
We are currently in the process of setting up an events calendar once again. This time, however, the calendar will spotlight events occurring across the state.
“Higher education opens minds to a wider worldview than those we develop in our more isolated hometowns,” Nate Schumann writes.
“Fun fact: I got married on April 15, 2023. I also got married on June 24, 2023. Yes, I married the same person twice,” Nate Schumann writes. “No, we did not split during that 10-week period. We actually chose to have two ceremonies!”
Deputy Editor Nate Schumann reflects on how he found places within local communities by developing relationships with those he encountered who shared common interests, thereby increasing his social health.
“No one is too big or too small to deserve recognition for the lives they lead and the work they have accomplished. All Mississippians matter to the MFP,” Nate Schumann writes.
“While I am continually striving to be a more effective editor every day, I have found that paying that knowledge forward and helping new writers learn the ropes of our chosen field is a greatly rewarding experience,” Deputy Editor Nate Schumann writes.
