Jaden Oliver Coleman, the son of Drs. Mary Lou Shepherd and John H. Coleman, is a 12th grade Superintendent Scholar at Gentry High School in Indianola, Miss. He is the percussion section leader for the band and battalion commander for the JROTC program at Gentry High School. Coleman is a member of the Beta Club and The National Society of High School Scholars. His notable achievements and awards include scoring a 28 on the ACT, the JROTC Medal of Merit Award, the JROTC Academic Award and the JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge All Star Award. He also serves as a youth ambassador for Generation Free MS and is an advocate for The Partnership for A Healthy MS. His goal is to participate in the ROTC Program at Alcorn State University in which he plans to graduate as an officer before attending medical school.
