This Sunday, Clarion-Ledger Executive Editor Ronnie Agnew blasted Melton for a host of offenses, from stopping school buses for hugs, to swearing on Charles Evers’ radio show, to terrifying “Batman’s” mom with his swaggering “show of force” on her porch.

He writes that “Haley had it right” when Barbour fired Melton as head of MBN, but he does not mention that the Ledge had it wrong by barely mentioning the fact during the election. He writes that Melton only wants to show “his friends in northeast Jackson he is serious about crime,” but he does not mention that the Ledge panders to the same “friends” on the same issue.

Agnew writes that Melton’s credibility has suffered an “irreversible blow,” but he does not mention that his own credibility is in tatters. You have to earn indignation, Mr. Agnew. Now get to work.

Yeah, everyone of these outraged explosions by Agnew just make my eyes roll. Where were they all these months and years? Whistling “Dixie” perhaps? We need a REAL daily newspaper. This thing is useless.
